Fall Stripes

Don’t put your stripes away just yet, because I think stripes can be worn all year round.  This week, Boston has great weather.  We are in the 70-80’s with sun and crisp cool air.  And yet, it is New England so layering is always safe because the air can turn all of a certain.

Have you put your summer clothes away yet?

Sunflower Field at Colby Farms

As we set the ball rolling for the school year, what was a better way to end the week with visiting a sunflower field.  I missed this stunning view last year because of the rain and we could not fit into our schedule.  This year I kept checking the Colby Farms’ website for announcement when these beauties were in full bloom.  Last weekend we made it here.  Oh mine!  It was satisfying.  I can look at these pictures throughout the year as a vehicle to rejuvenate and energize my body and spirit.  Now that Evan and Landon are older, our week is much more busier than before with activities.

City Farm in Gingham Dress

I know a lot of parents couldn’t wait to get their kids out of the house back to school. I didn’t have the same feelings.  Our summer was much more relaxed compared to the school year where the new routines have to be established for drop off/ pick up, activities, homework, and ahh papers and pile of papers. This past summer had gone so fast that I was not ready for fall.

Labor Day’s Deals and Steals

Get your wallet ready because there are so many yummy sales over this long weekend.  I am partnering with a local/online boutique Femme Boutique Boston to feature this vest incorporating into my wardrobe.  Initially I was planning to wear it for my camping trip in Maine, but it didn’t happen.  Here I am wearing it for a date night, adding the sexiness with bare arms.  As the weather gets colder, you can style it over a striped top and a jean.  What do you think?  Beside my hair getting hard to style these days, do you like that  I styled this vest with a slip dress?

Camden, Maine

We had our annual camping trip in Camden Hills State Park this year.  Compared to the usual Tripoli Road, New Hampshire camping site, everyone felt like a VIP camper.  The amenities were awesome.  The bathroom and showers were cleaned and closed to the camp site.  We didn’t have to put coins in to use the water.  Every morning, there were two park workers driving around to collecting trash, and they were the most friendliest people.  Even the hand wash soap in the restroom smelled nice.

Volume Sleeves Gingham Dress

We were away to Maine last weekend for our annual camping trip.  The sun and the air were still speaking summer.  We were nonstop from boiled lobster, clam strips, to lobster rolls, and corn on the cob.  Back to the reality today, the fall air has arrived to Boston.  It is sad to think about stacking away the summer fun pieces.  Gingham was big over the summer and I think Fall is about statement sleeves.  Arms will become a focal point with dramatic shapes and fresh details.  This dress has both.  It is a great transitional piece that I just added to my closet.

Maxi Skirting into Fall

In my line of work, I encounter people that are less fortunate than I am everyday.  Yesterday two situations that hit me the most were a mom bailing her son out of trouble after he was in and out of jail.  The expression on her face stayed with me, sad and sorrowful.  I thought of my sons and of being in her shoes.  I sympathized with her suffering.  Whose mothers wouldn’t want their sons to be great?

Knit Top/Satin Skirt

Mid-July while the weather is heating up and summer starts in full swing, retailers begin issue out their fall pieces.  Do you know about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale?  Well, I know it because I like shopping and get an alert about it.  This year, Nordstrom ran for 3 weeks and it seemed every fashion bloggers talking about the Anniversary Sale and their picks.   People were snatching up fall pieces at about 40% discount.  My wallet, of course, didn’t allow me to follow suit, but it was so tempting.

Back To School Primark

Are you preparing for back to school?  The summer just flew by, isn’t it?  We are two weeks away from the start of the school year here in Boston.  This year we have not yet dipped out feet into the sand locally.  The weather has been weird, some like fall days, and it has never gotten hot enough.  Hopefully, we will have a chance for the remaining of August.

One and Done Summer White

When you have 10 to 15 minutes to get ready with your little one playing with your makeup, spilling hand soap on the counter, and toying with the toilet paper, you just want to pull on something quick and tend your little, otherwise the mess is not going end.
